About Brockway Ventures

Brockway Ventures was shaped by more than three decades of building businesses, commercializing technologies, developing markets, raising capital, and working alongside founders, business owners, investors, and technology companies.

That experience has repeatedly shown that important business objectives rarely fit neatly within a single function. A growth opportunity can become an operational challenge. A technology initiative can depend on strategic relationships or new commercial capabilities. Expansion can require capital. A business transition can reveal opportunities that were never part of the original objective.

Brockway approaches opportunities from that broader perspective, beginning with what the organization is trying to accomplish and looking across the business to understand what may be required to achieve it.

That perspective has been shaped by successes and failures, opportunities recognized and missed, and lessons that only come from putting ideas, capital, relationships, and businesses to work.

The industries have changed. The technologies have changed. The underlying work has remained remarkably consistent: understanding the objective, assessing the opportunity, determining what is needed, and bringing together the capabilities required to move forward.

Brockway draws upon lessons working in manufacturing, automation, software, artificial intelligence, insurance, and private capital to help organizations navigate consequential business decisions and pursue opportunities with confidence.

Creating Value Through Formation, Integration, and Acceleration

Brockway approaches business objectives through three interconnected disciplines: Formation, Integration, and Acceleration. Together, they provide a perspective for assessing opportunities, determining what is needed, bringing the right capabilities together, and moving objectives forward.
01

Formation

Formation is the exploration of pathways to greater possibility.

Formation broadens the field of view to consider the business and opportunity from different perspectives relative to the objective.

We may step back and ask: What are we missing? What else is possible? Is there a better path? What should exist that doesn’t?

All possibilities are explored broadly, then tested against business circumstances, capabilities, constraints, and objectives to determine which are worth pursuing.

Approached with courageous curiosity, Formation is never really complete. Applied across the business, it continually reveals new possibilities and opportunities for Integration and Acceleration.

02

Integration

Integration is identifying and bringing together the people, businesses, technology, capital, and other resources required to pursue an objective.

Integration considers what already exists and what needs to be connected, developed, acquired, or changed to move the objective forward.

The right combination of resources and is not always obvious may draw upon internal capabilities, outside expertise, technology, capital, strategic relationships, acquisitions, or entirely new partnerships.

The objective is not simply to assemble more resources, but to bring together and align the right capabilities in ways that accomplish more than they could independently.

03

Acceleration

Acceleration is moving a business, initiative, or opportunity from its current level of performance or development toward what comes next.

It builds momentum by expanding what works, changing what doesn’t, removing obstacles, and applying the capabilities needed to move forward.

Acceleration may involve scaling an existing business, advancing a new initiative, commercializing an opportunity, or helping an organization move beyond a plateau that existing approaches are unlikely to overcome.

As the right changes take hold, performance and productivity increase, friction declines, and the business gains the ability to accomplish more with less effort.

Every engagement begins with an objective. Formation, Integration, and Acceleration provide interconnected disciplines for exploring what is possible, bringing together what is needed, and moving toward what is desired.

Who We Work With

Brockway Ventures works alongside founders, operators, technology companies, and investors, wherever an objective calls for a broader perspective and the right capabilities brought together.

Brockway has a track record of addressing consequential business situations where the path forward is not obvious, the opportunity may be larger than it first appears, or accomplishing the objective requires capabilities beyond those already in place.

Those situations arise across businesses of different sizes, industries, and stages of development.

Sometimes a business has reached an inflection point and what worked before may not be enough for what comes next. Other times, an opportunity is emerging but its full potential, or the best path for pursuing it, is not yet clear. The direction may be clear, but pursuing it requires resources that are not currently in place. Or the necessary pieces may already exist, but the business is not yet achieving what should be possible.

Brockway also develops relationships across industry, technology, and capital, enabling connections among businesses, expertise, resources, and people when interests align. These relationships can become mutually beneficial sources of opportunity, expertise, capital, partnerships, or other capabilities.

If you see yourself or your business in any of this, reach out. A conversation is often the best way to find out where Brockway might fit.
